Nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer la conférence (en français) de Klaas Goris du bureau gantois Coussée & Goris architecten, intitulée Natura Naturans.
Le titre de la conférence fait référence au philosophe Baruch Spinoza qui écrit en 1659 : "J'estime que par la nature naturante nous devons entendre ce qui existe en soi et ce qui est conçu en soi, autrement dit tels attributs de la substance qui expriment une essence éternelle et infinie." Klaas Goris portera par l’angle de « la nature naturante » un regard exceptionnel sur leur œuvre récente : la bibliothèque De Krook à Gand et le Crématorium Hofheide à Holsbeek en collaboration avec RCR architects (Pritzker 2017) ou le centre des visiteurs au Zwin et les logements sur le portussite en collaboration avec GAFPA.

We have the pleasure to announce the lecture (in french) Natura Naturans by Klaas Goris of the Belgian office Coussée & Goris architecten.
The title of the conference refers to the philosopher Baruch Spinoza who wrote in 1659 :
"By Nature naturing, we must understand what is in itself and is conceived through itself, or such attributes of substance as express an eternal and infinite essence."
Klaas Goris will analyse his work through the lens of "Nature naturing", or more loosely, "nature doing what nature does", presenting recent work such as the library De Krook in Ghent and the crematorium Hofheide in Holsbeek both in collaboration with RCR architects (Pritzker 2017) or the visitors center in the Zwin and the housing project for the Portussite, both in collaboration with GAFPA.
The lecture series Architecture & Culture is a coproducion between the faculty of architecture of the university of Liège and the Société Libre d’Emulation.
